INTRODUCTION
Competition carnivals are held throughout the state, culminating with the State Championships in March, followed by the Australian Championship on the Goldcoast.

In order to compete at local carnivals, State and National Championships, members must hold the necessary awards and have completed the minimum patrolling requirements.

CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
Club Championships are usually held each year over the Australia Day long weekend, and provide the opportunity for all active members to compete in a range of events where the primary objective is to encourage participation.

Events are available in a number of categories including Open Male, Open female, Junior Male, Junior female categories.

There is no entry fee to compete, and medallions are awarded to the winnners of each event. A Club Champion Trophy is also awarded to the competitor in each category amassing the most points throughout the competition.

It's a great day and an excellent opportunity to compete and socialise with other club members.

INTERCLUB CARNIVALS
Life Saving Victoria organises competition carnivals most weekends over the Summer period. The club offers opportunities for active patrolling members to compete against other clubs in a wide range of team and individual water and beach based events.

VICTORIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The Victorian Surf Life Saving Championships are the showcase event on the senior lifesaving competition calendar. The competition is conducted over 2 days in March and attracts up to 1000 competitors from all over Victoria, and upwards of 3000 spectators.

Lifesavers not only compete for individual honours in a range of events, but also for the overall Champion Club Award which is presented to the Club accumulating the most points. The event is open to all active life savers and provids an excellent warm up for the Australian Surf LIfe Saving Championships which are held at the end of March.

AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS
The annual Australian Surf Life Saving Championships are one of the world's most exciting sporting events, with over 7300 competitors from Australia and international lifesaving countries participating each year.

Only the Olympic Games boasts more competitors! There are upwards of 500 officials that facilitate the championships. The championships are nationally televised and have become a pinnacle event on the Australian sporting calendar.

To compete at the Australian Surf Life Saving Championships you must comply with the requirements necessary to compete at the Victorian Championships.
